about us

who we are

the neighborhood project is a division of The Nantucket Project, a private company that produces an annual event on Nantucket and around the country featuring live talks, music and performance art by curious people doing meaningful work. Afterward, the tnp Lab makes short films based on the freshest and most challenging ideas from our stage.

what we do

the neighborhood project is dedicated to creating healthier communities by encouraging more meaningful conversations. Our members gather every month in small groups to share the tnpLabs award-winning videos and have the kind of conversation you don’t have every day. We have found the conversation that follows our films is richer than the usual small talk.

why we do it

One of our core values is to be of service. Our hope is that these neighborhood projects will grow, uniting communities around the country in the service of something greater. We have developed a grant program that provides communities in need a free pass to the neighborhood project. If you are interested in the program, apply here.

why we charge

Making a profit enables us to stay in business and develop our films, which support and amplify the message of speakers and artists who would not normally reach such a broad audience. The fee also helps offset the cost of the neighborhood pass program (above).
